Summer Flowers

Sorry about my lack of posting recently, but you’re probably all in the same boat; just getting over the joyful excess of Christmas and New Year, and changing gears back to every day routine.

I have been doing a few bits and pieces – I’ve covered my new 2010 Diary in some very pretty Designer Series paper, and I’ve finally got around to scrapbooking the ‘Santa’ photo of my two beautiful daughters, but haven’t taken any shots of them yet to blog. I figured you’re tired of seeing Christmas stuff anyway.

What I have taken a photo of today is this pretty card I made for a new customer as a thanks for her order – a ‘flowerpot’ card – very easy to make, but it has a little bit of ‘WOW’ factor to it.

I’ve used the Eastern Blooms stamp set on Whisper White cardstock with both Regal Rose and Pretty in Pink inks. I then used my blender pens to hand colour the edges to give the ‘flowers’ a bit more definition. The ‘leaves’ were cut out of Kiwi Kiss cardstock, and hand coloured with Old Olive Stampin’ Pastels. The ‘flowerpot’ is cut from Very Vanilla, and hand coloured with Chocolate Chip Stampin’ Pastels. The ‘ribbon’ is a piece of Sweet Always Designer Paper, and the tag is stamped in Pretty in Pink on Whisper White, using Terrific Tags (an older stamp set on loan from my sister – Thanks Katie!). All in all, I think it came out quite nicely – I was trying to think of a pot of pinkish begonias as my inspiration when I was making it.

If you’d like a copy of the new Summer Mini Catalogue, please let me know, and I’ll post one out to you.

Cheers,

Dani
